Words can do two very different things. Words can either make someone have the brightest, most majestic day imaginable. A day full of love and laughs. A day of those hugs that will your soul with joy and make you laugh uncontrollably. Or words can force someone's day down the overgrown, dark path. One of those days that make you feel as though you'll never get out, like a never ending night terror. As humans living in this crazy journey called life, we face many hard times. Whether our hard times come financially, morally, or mentally we are able to overcome them and most times forget them. Words on the other hand cut deep into our hearts and scar our souls. Unpleasant words are things and experiences we do not forget! Just last night as my family and I sat down for a dinner a few harmful words were thrown around. Whether we are a parent, a child, a sibling, friend, or foe, we do not consider how much our words will potentially cut that person. We need to begin to process our words in our minds more before we throw them around. I know I continuous hurt the people I love the most when I am in an intense situation or have had a trying day with the sharpness of my tongue. Proverbs 21:23 says , "Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble." Controlling our tongue is something we have to pray, or promise ourself we will control before we start each day in our very challenging lives. Many of us have had experiences in school, society, or throughout our family life. Let's hear your comments, thoughts, and experiences. Let's help each other through these hard times!
Peace and love.
