Words can do two very different things. Words can either make someone have the brightest, most majestic day imaginable. A day full of love and laughs. A day of those hugs that will your soul with joy and make you laugh uncontrollably. Or words can force someone's day down the overgrown, dark path. One of those days that make you feel as though you'll never get out, like a never ending night terror. As humans living in this crazy journey called life, we face many hard times. Whether our hard times come financially, morally, or mentally we are able to overcome them and most times forget them. Words on the other hand cut deep into our hearts and scar our souls. Unpleasant words are things and experiences we do not forget! Just last night as my family and I sat down for a dinner a few harmful words were thrown around. Whether we are a parent, a child, a sibling, friend, or foe, we do not consider how much our words will potentially cut that person. We need to begin to process our words in our minds more before we throw them around. I know I continuous hurt the people I love the most when I am in an intense situation or have had a trying day with the sharpness of my tongue. Proverbs 21:23 says , "Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble." Controlling our tongue is something we have to pray, or promise ourself we will control before we start each day in our very challenging lives. Many of us have had experiences in school, society, or throughout our family life. Let's hear your comments, thoughts, and experiences. Let's help each other through these hard times!
Peace and love.

Beauty
Who or what defines beauty? How have we allowed the world to put a label on beauty? These days, beauty seems to lie in a $30 bottle of spray tan, an $8 tube of lip plumper, in the tracks of $200 long blonde hair extensions, and don't forget boys, to be likable you must have the most amazing body on the face of earth! What ever happened to inner beauty? Inner beauty is the most beautiful and sacred type of beauty that more and more people seem to forget exists each and every day. Girls are pouring chemicals in their hair to have the perfect hair color while guys are pumping unsafe hormones into their helpless bodies. We all feel the pressures to be what the world and media now defines as "beautiful". A "perfect" body does not make you beautiful. Bleach blonde hair does not make you beautiful. Extremely defined abs do not make you beautiful. Fatal attraction is taking a whole new meaning. 10 million women, men, and children suffer from eating disorders each year. Five to ten percent of those suffering will die from effects of the eating disorder.Being attractive on the outside is something we worry about each and everyday because people(we, all of us!) do not take the time to look into someone's heart and get to know who they really, truly are. We should set aside more time out of our crazy schedules to learn more about others on the inside and realize what makes them honestly beautiful. By doing this inner beauty will radiate through us all. Please, I want to hear your comments, concerns, personal experiences (you or someone you know). Let's help each other out and be activist for inner beauty!
